The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is a 1979 novel by Douglas Adams. The first novelisation of the multimedia sensation that Hitchhiker became, this book introduces you to the intrepid journey throughout space of Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect.
Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make room for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked from certain doom by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy who has been posing as an out of work actor as a cover.
Journeying through the galaxy, their only aid the Hitchhiker’s Guide, Arthur and Ford attempt to make sense of it (and some of the interesting characters they meet along the way) and make some surprising discoveries along the way.
Who knows what you’ll discover when you take the journey with them – maybe even the meaning of life and trust us… it’s not what you might think…
