A Boy Made of Blocks is inspired by Stuart’s personal experience raising a son with autism.
The protagonist is eight year Sam who is loved by his family but not always understood. His father, Alex, worries about his development as he has limited vocabulary and is unhappy at school. As Alex’s life falls apart, Sam discovers the blocky world of adventure and creativity that is Minecraft. Sam’s imagination blooms and offers a chance for father and son to connect and start rebuilding their lives block by block. A heart-rending emotional tale that has at its heart an uplifting story of hope. Laced with both deeply emotive scenes and the inevitable humour of childhood, this is a story which is sure to inspire.
